NTA to publish scorecards, percentiles and cut-off on official websites
New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to announce the JEE Main 2026 January Session results on February 12, along with the final answer key, bringing relief and anticipation to over 12 lakh engineering aspirants across the country. Candidates will be able to check their results on the official portals nta.ac.in and jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The provisional answer key was released on February 4, and the objection window closed on February 6, after which NTA began evaluating challenges submitted by candidates. Based on these reviews, the final answer key will be published, which will form the basis for calculating results and percentile scores.
Exam Conducted in Multiple Shifts Across India
The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examination was conducted between January 21 and January 29 in computer-based mode, across multiple centres in India and abroad. The exam was held in two daily shifts — morning (9 am to 12 noon) and afternoon (3 pm to 6 pm). According to initial analysis, the paper ranged from easy to moderately difficult, with Mathematics considered relatively tougher in several shifts.
Results Crucial for IIT, NIT and IIIT Admissions
JEE Main serves as the primary gateway for admission into undergraduate engineering programmes at prestigious institutions such as NITs, IIITs, and Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs). Additionally, top performers become eligible to appear for JEE Advanced, the entrance test for Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
April Session Registration Underway
Meanwhile, registrations for JEE Main 2026 Session 2, scheduled from April 2 to April 9, are currently underway. Candidates dissatisfied with their January performance will have another opportunity to improve their scores. The best of the two session scores will be considered for ranking and admissions.

Candidates can download their scorecards, percentiles, and rank details by logging in with their application number and date of birth on the official websites once the results are declared.
