massive fire has broken out at the Gaur Green Avenue residential complex in Abhay Khand, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, gutting around 10–12 flats and triggering a large‑scale evacuation. The blaze erupted on Wednesday morning, with thick plumes of smoke billowing from the high‑rise society and residents rushing out in panic as the flames spread across several floors. No casualties have been reported so far, but the damage to the affected apartments is severe and being assessed by municipal and fire‑safety officials.

Ghaziabad fire department rushed multiple fire tenders to the spot soon after the incident, including over 20 fire‑fighting units in the course of operations, and slowly brought the flames under control after several hours of effort. Initial enquiries suggest the fire may have originated from an electrical fault on the ninth floor, from where it spread rapidly to at least 6–7 adjoining flats and even jumped to an adjacent tower, damaging two more apartments. Residents told local media they saw the fire spreading floor‑to‑floor as firefighters worked to contain the blaze and prevent further damage to neighbouring buildings.

The incident has reignited safety concerns in Indirapuram’s densely populated housing societies, where rapid urbanisation and sometimes outdated electrical infrastructure can magnify fire risks. The Greater Noida–Ghaziabad region is still investigating the exact cause and whether any violations of fire‑safety norms contributed to the rapid spread. For now, the focus remains on rescue, debris‑clearance, and temporary relief for displaced families, while officials and residents alike are likely to push for stricter fire‑safety audits and safety upgrades in high‑rise residential towers across the area.
