India’s Advanced Schools Vision Alliance (AŚVA) was nationally launched on January 29, 2026, at The Lawrence School, Lovedale in Ooty, Tamil Nadu, aiming to revolutionize school education through innovative, research-driven models.
Launch Details
Union Ministry of Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar IAS inaugurated the official AŚVA website during a hybrid event attended by over 250 school leaders, academicians, and experts. Former ISRO Chairman Dr. G. Madhavan Nair serves as Chief Patron, with NEP architect Dr. K. Kasturirangan as Chief Advisor; over 500 senior scientists, technologists, and educators guide operations.
Core Model
AŚVA uses a scalable Hub-Node framework where select “Hub Schools” share resources, teacher training, technology, and research facilities with surrounding “Node Schools” to bridge urban-rural gaps. This aligns with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasizing hands-on learning beyond textbooks—like the new climate lab opened by IISc’s Dr. S.K. Satheesh.
Vision and Goals
The initiative promotes a journey from curiosity to competence, creativity, and national contribution, fostering critical thinking, interdisciplinary projects, and direct scientist-student interactions for Viksit Bharat. Teachers transition from information providers to facilitators, with nationwide rollout targeting equitable, high-quality education.
