India’s first national cow culture museum will be established on the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Veterinary Science University campus in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, as announced by the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad.
Project Highlights
The facility, approved under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s directives, will showcase around 100 digital and physical models of major Indian cattle breeds, including endangered species, to educate on the nation’s cow heritage. A key attraction features an exhibition on cow milk products like curd, cheese, and ghee, highlighting their scientific, nutritional, and Ayurvedic benefits using modern displays.
Cultural and Economic Focus
Recognizing the cow as “mother” in Sanatan tradition, the museum blends spirituality, religion, and science to promote cow conservation beyond agriculture—emphasizing virtuous lifestyles and public welfare. An on-site dairy parlour will offer pure products, supporting a scientifically backed cow-based economy and boosting Braj region’s identity.
Development Status
Land has been selected and inspected; the initiative follows a recent Mathura meeting, positioning it as an educational and tourist hub.
