The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 officially announced the UGC NET December 2025 results, marking the culmination of one of India’s most competitive national eligibility examinations. The UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) determines eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor positions and admission to PhD programmes across Indian universities and higher education institutions. According to official data, nearly 9.94 lakh candidates registered for the December cycle, with 7.36 lakh actually appearing for the test — underlining the massive scale and fierce competition of the examination.
