The tournament, held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, saw Indian boxers secure five gold, three silver and eight bronze medals, marking one of the country’s strongest outings in recent years.

Gold Rush Led by Vishvanath Suresh

India’s campaign was headlined by a standout performance from Vishvanath Suresh, who clinched gold in the men’s 50kg category. He defeated Japan’s Daichi Iwai in a dominant final, securing India’s first Asian title in men’s boxing in five years.

Sachin Siwach added to the medal tally with a silver in the men’s 60kg category after a closely contested final against Kazakhstan’s Orazbek Assylkulov.

Women Boxers Power India’s Campaign

Their dominance played a crucial role in pushing India to the top in terms of overall medal count, even as the country finished second in the gold medal standings.

Second Place Finish, Highest Medal Count

Despite finishing second behind Kazakhstan in the gold tally, India recorded the highest number of total medals in the competition.

This achievement underlines the country’s growing strength in boxing, with both experienced athletes and emerging talents making significant contributions on the continental stage.
