Veteran Producer Dies in Rajasthan Accident

Veteran film producer R.B. Choudary, founder of the renowned banner Super Good Films, passed away in a tragic road accident near Udaipur in Rajasthan on Tuesday. He was 76. According to reports, the producer was returning from a family wedding when the vehicle lost control after cattle reportedly strayed onto the road, leading to a fatal crash.

Choudary’s sudden demise sent shockwaves across the Indian film industry, especially in Tamil and Telugu cinema, where he played a major role in shaping several successful careers over the last four decades.

 Rajinikanth Pays Emotional Tribute

Superstar Rajinikanth expressed deep grief over the death of his longtime friend and colleague. Remembering Choudary as a “top-notch producer” and “wonderful human being,” Rajinikanth praised his contribution to nurturing young directors and supporting meaningful cinema.

The actor also extended condolences to Choudary’s family and acknowledged the producer’s lasting influence on South Indian cinema through his banner Super Good Films.

 Chiranjeevi Recalls Long Association

Megastar Chiranjeevi also mourned the producer’s death and described the loss as heartbreaking. Chiranjeevi recalled working with Choudary on the 2022 film Godfather and credited him for shaping the careers of numerous actors and filmmakers across industries.

The actor stated that Choudary’s contribution to Indian cinema was “beyond words” and offered support to the grieving family during what he described as an unimaginable loss.

 Film Industry Unites in Grief

Several leading personalities from the South Indian film industry, including Pawan Kalyan, Kamal Haasan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, paid tribute to the veteran producer. Many remembered his support for family-oriented storytelling and his ability to identify commercially successful scripts.

Pawan Kalyan especially recalled the success of Suswagatham, produced by Choudary, and praised his expertise in filmmaking and production management.

 A Legacy That Shaped South Indian Cinema

Born as Ratanlal Bhagatram Choudary, the producer built one of South India’s most respected production houses through Super Good Films. Over his career, he produced several blockbuster films including Nattamai, Suryavamsam, Gokulam and Aanandham.

Choudary was widely respected for introducing fresh talent and backing films that connected strongly with family audiences. His influence extended across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi cinema.

 Final Rites to Be Held in Chennai

According to official announcements, Choudary’s mortal remains were scheduled to be brought to Chennai on Wednesday for public homage and final rites. Members of the film fraternity, fans and political leaders are expected to attend and pay their respects to one of Indian cinema’s most influential producers.
