Actor Recalls Superstar’s Reality Check Before Bollywood Debut
Bollywood actor Pulkit Samrat has revealed that a candid piece of advice from Salman Khan before the release of his debut film Bittoo Boss in 2012 helped shape his perspective on success, failure, and the uncertainties of the film industry. Speaking in a recent interview, Pulkit said the superstar’s words continue to guide him throughout his career.
Pulkit admitted that he was overwhelmed with anxiety before his first film hit theatres, worrying about how audiences would react to both his performance and the movie’s box-office prospects. It was during this period that Salman Khan offered him a simple but powerful lesson.
“Even I Can’t Guarantee My Next Friday”
Recalling the conversation, Pulkit said Salman looked at him and remarked, “I am Salman Khan. Even I don’t have the guarantee of my next Friday. So, who do you think you are? What are you going to achieve by stressing about it?”
The actor said those words immediately changed his mindset. He realised that if one of Bollywood’s biggest stars could not predict the fate of his films, there was no point in carrying the burden of uncertainty as a newcomer. According to Pulkit, the advice taught him to focus on his work instead of worrying about factors beyond his control.

Pulkit also praised Salman Khan’s dedication to cinema, saying the superstar’s commitment and discipline have always inspired him. He described Salman as someone whose life revolves around filmmaking and who approaches every project with complete sincerity.
The Fukrey actor noted that the biggest lesson he learned was to remain grounded regardless of success or failure, as every Friday brings a new challenge in the film industry.
