Actor Reveals Toddler Offers Laddoo to PM Modi’s Photograph
Veteran Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has shared an endearing anecdote about his 15-month-old granddaughter, Evaarah, revealing that her daily morning routine includes offering a laddoo to a photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The actor spoke about the incident during a recent interview, saying the gesture developed naturally and was never encouraged by the family.
Evaarah, the daughter of actor Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul, has largely been kept away from the public eye since her birth in March 2025. However, Suniel often speaks fondly about the joy she has brought to the family.
“There Is Something Magical About Him”
Recalling the story, Suniel Shetty said Evaarah first became familiar with Prime Minister Modi after one of her nannies pointed him out at an airport. Since then, she has developed a fascination with his photograph, which appears in a Sai Baba book kept at home.
According to the actor, every morning the toddler opens the book, points to Modi’s photograph, says “Modi ji,” and takes a laddoo from the family’s Ganesh idol to symbolically offer it to the picture. Suniel emphasized that neither he nor Evaarah’s parents instructed her to perform the ritual, describing it as a spontaneous expression of affection. He added that he personally admires Narendra Modi as a leader and believes there is “something magical” about him.
Evaarah Remains Away From Public Spotlight
Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul welcomed their daughter on March 24, 2025, and later revealed her name, Evaarah, which they said means “Gift of God.” The couple has consistently chosen to protect their daughter’s privacy by sharing only limited glimpses of her without revealing her face.
Suniel has previously referred to his granddaughter as “Athiya 2.0,” saying she reminds him of his daughter during childhood.
Busy Phase for Suniel Shetty
On the professional front, Suniel Shetty was recently seen in Welcome to the Jungle, which released in theatres this week. The actor is also expected to reprise his popular role in the much-awaited Hera Pheri 3, although production has reportedly been delayed due to legal issues surrounding the project.
