What Happened?
According to Toronto Police, a security officer stationed at the U.S. Consulate heard a gunshot at approximately 4:46 a.m. Officers responding to the scene discovered evidence that a firearm had been discharged outside the building, including a shell casing. Investigators also found minor damage to the consulate’s exterior façade.
Witnesses and police reported seeing a white sedan fleeing the area immediately after the shooting. Officers initiated a high-speed pursuit, but the chase was later called off due to public safety concerns. No arrests had been made at the time of reporting.
