The Adani Foundation’s Swabhimaan initiative, launched in 2022, seeks to uplift one million urban poor women nationwide by equipping them with entrepreneurial skills, financial literacy, and market linkages for sustainable livelihoods.

Program Expansion and Goals

On March 12, 2026, at the “Swabhimaan – The Rise of She” event in Mumbai, Chairperson Priti Adani announced the next phase targeting 100,000 women in Maharashtra within the first year, scaling to one million across India. Partnering with Maharashtra’s MAVIM via a PPP model, it builds self-help groups (SHGs) for business growth and economic independence.

Proven Impact in Mumbai

Already aiding over 4,500 women, including 800 “Lakhpati Didis” from areas like Dharavi, the program delivers training in skills, digital literacy, and finance, fostering home-based ventures and community leadership. Priti Adani emphasized women’s empowerment as an investment in future generations.

Broader Vision

As the Adani Foundation nears its 30th anniversary in August 2026, Swabhimaan complements initiatives like Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, promoting resilient local economies through women-led micro-enterprises.
