Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has once again entertained his fans with his trademark wit, joking that he is the “greatest makkhi maar (fly swatter) in the business.” Sharing a glimpse of his day off, the veteran actor said that even a single day of rest makes his body restless, prompting him to stay active in his own humorous way.
Taking to his blog and social media, Bachchan wrote that “a day of rest and the entire system revolts,” adding that his body constantly needs movement. In a light-hearted remark, he quipped that instead of relaxing, he spent the day swatting flies, proudly calling himself the “greatest makkhi maar in the business.”
The 83-year-old actor also shared a photograph of himself holding a bright orange fly swatter and looking at it with amusement. Alongside the picture, he humorously captioned the post, “Relaxation! It’s a waste of time! Swatting flies all day,” delighting fans with his playful sense of humour.
A day earlier, Bachchan had expressed his happiness over the three-day break in the FIFA World Cup 2026 schedule before the semi-finals. The avid football follower remarked that just as the tournament had a brief pause, he too needed a short respite from his busy routine.
Despite enjoying a rare day off, Amitabh Bachchan continues to remain one of the busiest actors in Indian cinema. He is currently working on the much-awaited sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin. The film also features Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani in key roles.
Known for regularly interacting with fans through his blog and social media, Bachchan often shares personal reflections, behind-the-scenes moments and humorous anecdotes from his daily life. His latest post once again showcased his ability to find humour in ordinary moments, earning appreciation from fans across generations.
