New Delhi | October 30, 2026
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has revised the schedule for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in five states and the National Capital Territory of Delhi, extending key deadlines for claims, objections and final voter list publication.
Under the revised schedule, the final electoral rolls for Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Haryana and Nagaland will be published on November 30, 2026. Delhi’s final voter list is now scheduled for December 22, 2026.
Delhi Voter List: Claims Deadline Extended
In Delhi, the deadline to submit claims and objections has been extended from October 30 to November 25. The Election Commission has also extended the period for resolving claims and objections until December 15.
The revised timeline follows requests from state Chief Electoral Officers and comes after the Supreme Court asked the poll panel to consider extending the deadline for Delhi voters.
Revised SIR Schedule for Five States
The Election Commission has also revised the claims and verification timelines in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Telangana and Nagaland.
- Maharashtra: Claims and objections can be filed until November 13. The disposal process will continue until November 25.
- Andhra Pradesh and Haryana: The notice and claims-disposal phase will continue until November 20.
- Nagaland: The disposal process will continue until November 25.
- Telangana: The notice and disposal phase will continue until November 26.
The final electoral rolls for all five states are scheduled to be published on November 30.
What Is the Special Intensive Revision?
The Special Intensive Revision is an Election Commission exercise to update electoral rolls by checking voter details, adding eligible electors and addressing entries that require correction or deletion.
The ECI has directed officials to publicise the revised schedule and inform political parties about the changes.
What Voters Should Know
Eligible voters should check their names and details in the electoral rolls and submit the appropriate claims or correction forms within the revised deadlines.
Form 6 is used for inclusion of eligible voters, Form 7 for objections or deletion requests, and Form 8 for corrections or modifications to existing entries.
The revised schedule gives voters and election officials additional time to complete the verification process before the final electoral rolls are published.
