This update addresses longstanding issues in vehicle verification during sales and relocations, boosting road safety and anti-theft measures.
HSRP Features and Benefits
HSRP plates feature laser-etched 10-digit PINs, Ashoka Chakra holograms, tamper-proof snap-locks, and reflective sheeting linked to the NIC database for chassis-engine traceability. They standardize identification nationwide, reducing counterfeiting and enabling swift stolen vehicle recovery.
Portal’s Key Enhancements
Vehicle owners can now book, replace, retain, or transfer HSRPs online via state-specific portals like BookMyHSRP or OrderYourHSRP, covering pre-2019 vehicles in states including MP, UP, Delhi, and others. Real-time status tracking, refund options, and color-coded fuel stickers (blue-petrol, orange-diesel, green-EV/CNG) simplify compliance.
Nationwide Transfer Simplified
The system links plates to national databases, easing inter-state moves without re-registration hassles. Owners submit RC copies, insurance, and chassis details at authorized centers; penalties up to ₹10,000 apply for non-compliance, making early adoption essential.
