Indian Railways approved 100 infrastructure projects totaling ₹1.53 lakh crore in FY 2025-26—the largest annual push—covering over 6,000 km under PM Gati Shakti, up 56% in approvals and 110% in investment from FY25.

These include new lines, doublings, multitracking, bypasses, and flyovers to decongest routes, boost freight, and connect underserved areas in states like Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh.

Key sanctions feature Kasara-Manmad 3rd/4th line (131 km, ₹10,150 cr), Kharsia-Naya Raipur 5th/6th line (278 km, ₹8,740 cr), Itarsi-Nagpur 4th line (297 km, ₹5,450 cr), and Secunderabad-Wadi 3rd/4th line (173 km, ₹5,000 cr).
