Students and Educators Seek Immediate Protection
Calls for enhanced security for popular educator Khan Sir intensified on Wednesday after a firing incident outside his coaching institute in Patna, Bihar. Students, supporters and members of the educational community have urged the state administration to ensure the safety of the teacher and his institution following the attack that left a security guard injured.
The incident occurred near Musallahpur Haat, where unidentified individuals allegedly opened fire outside the coaching centre. Police officials confirmed that a security guard sustained injuries and was admitted to a hospital for treatment. Senior police officers, including top district officials, rushed to the spot and launched an investigation.
Appeal to Bihar Chief Minister
In the aftermath of the incident, voices from the education sector appealed to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to provide adequate security to Khan Sir and his students. Supporters argued that educational institutions should remain safe spaces and called for strict action against those responsible for the attack.
A large number of students gathered outside the coaching institute on Wednesday, expressing concern over the incident and demanding justice. Heavy police deployment was seen in the area to maintain law and order and prevent any further unrest.
Khan Sir Alleges Rivalry Behind Attack
Speaking after the incident, Khan Sir alleged that individuals associated with a nearby coaching institute could be linked to the attack. He claimed that the success of his low-cost educational model had created resentment among certain competitors in the coaching industry. However, police have not officially confirmed these allegations and said all angles are being examined as part of the investigation.
The educator also stated that CCTV footage from the premises had been handed over to authorities and urged the administration to provide protection. He emphasized that affordable education should remain accessible to economically weaker sections without intimidation or threats.
Investigation Underway
Police have begun scrutinising CCTV footage and recording statements from witnesses, local residents and the injured guard. Officials said several suspects have been identified and that further action will be taken based on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
The incident has sparked a wider debate about security around educational institutions and the growing competition within the coaching sector, with many now awaiting decisive action from the Bihar administration.
