US President Donald Trump has claimed that he remains Iran’s “number one target” and said his recent journey aboard Air Force One was carried out under heightened security due to ongoing tensions between Washington and Tehran. Speaking to reporters, Trump asserted that threats against him remain constant as the conflict between the two countries continues to intensify.
Trump said he was fully aware of the risks associated with the flight and described it as one of the most dangerous missions undertaken during the current crisis. Referring to Iran, he remarked that he has long been at the top of Tehran’s target list but insisted that the United States would not be intimidated by such threats.
The President’s comments came after questions were raised about his decision to switch aircraft during his return journey from the NATO summit in Türkiye. Trump initially departed on an older Air Force One before later boarding the newer presidential aircraft in the United Kingdom. While the White House maintained that the change was part of operational planning, reports indicated that security considerations amid escalating tensions with Iran also influenced the decision.
The remarks follow renewed military escalation between the United States and Iran after attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. The US has launched fresh strikes on Iranian targets, while Tehran has warned of further retaliation, raising concerns about regional stability and the safety of American officials and military assets.
Despite acknowledging the threats against him, Trump said the United States would continue to respond firmly to any hostile actions from Iran. He reiterated that protecting American interests and ensuring freedom of navigation in the Gulf remain top priorities as diplomatic efforts to ease tensions face growing uncertainty.
