Anant Ambani-backed Vantara has officially entered the food and beverage space with the launch of its new artisanal ice cream brand, Vantara Creamery. The premium dessert venture debuted in Mumbai with a specially designed ice cream truck experience at Jio World Drive, drawing significant attention on social media for its nostalgic and experimental Indian-inspired flavours.

The brand has launched with 17 artisanal ice cream flavours, including unique options such as Filter Coffee, Guava Chilli, Malai Kulfi, Lemon Sorbet, and Kesar Peda. The menu blends traditional Indian tastes with modern dessert concepts, aiming to create a premium and storytelling-driven culinary experience.

According to reports, Vantara Creamery’s ice creams are crafted using premium A2 Gir cow milk, which is known for its rich texture and creamy consistency. The brand is positioning itself within the growing premium dairy and artisanal dessert segment in India, where consumers are increasingly seeking small-batch, ingredient-focused products.

The launch took place through an experiential truck format at Mumbai’s Jio World Drive in Bandra Kurla Complex on May 9 and 10, with the truck expected to return on May 16 and 17. The concept was designed to create a lifestyle-focused public tasting experience rather than a traditional retail launch.

Vantara, originally known as a large-scale wildlife rescue and rehabilitation initiative based in Jamnagar, Gujarat, is supported by the Reliance Foundation and led by Anant Ambani. The entry into the premium dessert market marks the brand’s expansion beyond conservation activities into consumer lifestyle experiences.

The launch has sparked mixed reactions online. While many users praised the innovative Indian-inspired flavours and premium positioning, others questioned the brand’s move into the dairy and lifestyle business. Social media discussions around the launch quickly made Vantara Creamery one of the trending food stories of the week.
