A fresh political controversy has erupted after Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the US-based leader of the banned separatist group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), claimed that he held a Zoom meeting with leaders of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and allegedly offered financial support for their movement. The claims have prompted strong reactions from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has described the episode as part of a broader conspiracy aimed at destabilising India.
According to a video circulating on social media, Pannun allegedly claimed that he was willing to provide financial assistance worth several crores of rupees to support activities intended to “break India into smaller pieces.” In the same video, he reportedly asserted that removing Prime Minister Narendra Modi alone would not be sufficient and claimed that India’s “disintegration” was the ultimate objective.
BJP Raises Questions Over Alleged Foreign Links
Reacting to the viral video, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey questioned the source of the alleged funding and suggested that the claims point to a much larger conspiracy involving anti-India elements.

Dubey shared the video on social media and asked who was financing such activities, while also questioning whether foreign forces were attempting to influence ongoing protests in the country. He alleged that organisations hostile to India could be attempting to exploit public movements for their own agenda.
Speaking to reporters, Dubey further claimed that foreign-backed groups, including Khalistani networks and other anti-India organisations, were attempting to hijack public protests. He alleged that genuine student concerns were being exploited by external forces seeking to create instability.

The authenticity of the circulating video and Pannun’s claims has not been independently verified. At the time of publication, there had been no official confirmation from investigative agencies regarding the alleged Zoom meeting or the reported offer of financial assistance.
