Former World No. 1 Andy Murray has confirmed his return to coaching just weeks after ending his stint with Novak Djokovic. The British tennis legend is set to join the team of rising UK star Jack Draper for the upcoming grass-court season, including Wimbledon 2026.
The announcement comes after Draper decided to part ways with coach Jamie Delgado following a difficult season affected by multiple injuries. Draper confirmed that Murray would support him throughout the grass-court campaign as he prepares for major tournaments including Queen’s Club Championships and Wimbledon.
Murray’s return to coaching has generated major excitement in British tennis circles. The three-time Grand Slam champion retired from professional tennis in 2024 and had recently worked with Djokovic in a short-term coaching arrangement before stepping away earlier this year.
Draper, currently regarded as one of Britain’s brightest tennis talents, has struggled with injuries in recent months, including knee and arm problems that forced him to miss major clay-court tournaments. The 24-year-old is targeting a comeback during the grass-court season and hopes Murray’s experience on grass courts can help elevate his Wimbledon performance.
Murray is considered one of the greatest grass-court players of the modern era, having won Wimbledon twice and Queen’s Club a record five times. His experience handling pressure at home tournaments is expected to play a crucial role in Draper’s development.
Draper has shown tremendous promise over the last few seasons, previously climbing into the ATP Top 5 and reaching the US Open semi-finals. However, injuries interrupted his momentum and pushed him down the rankings in 2026.
