Veteran actor Anupam Kher has shared his deep admiration for Ayodhya, describing the holy city as a place where every lane tells a story and every corner echoes history and unwavering faith. The actor made the remarks during his visit to Ayodhya while shooting for his upcoming film Shri Ram Bhoomi, in which he portrays Ashok Singhal, a prominent figure associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement.
During his visit, Anupam Kher sought the blessings of Nritya Gopal Das Maharaj, President of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Sharing photographs and videos on social media, the actor expressed gratitude for receiving the saint’s blessings and praised his lifelong dedication to Lord Ram and the Ram Janmabhoomi movement.
Reflecting on his experience, Kher said Ayodhya is much more than a city of temples. He noted that every street carries its own history, every corner has a unique story, and the faces of its people reflect deep devotion. He added that arriving in Ayodhya brings a sense of peace and spiritual fulfilment, making the city a place he wishes to visit repeatedly.
The actor also said he bowed in reverence to the sacred land and felt that Ayodhya offers not only the opportunity for divine darshan but also renewed energy, stronger faith and inner peace. His heartfelt message resonated with many followers who appreciated his reflections on the city’s spiritual and cultural significance.
Shri Ram Bhoomi, produced by Zee Studios and directed by Kamakhaya Narayan Singh, is based on the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The film aims to portray the decades-long journey, historical events and people associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. Kher recently confirmed his role as Ashok Singhal and said he would give his very best to portray the character with sincerity and respect.
