Israel reportedly shared fresh intelligence with the United States claiming that Iran was planning to assassinate US President Donald Trump, a move that reportedly strengthened Washington’s decision to launch renewed military action against Tehran. The intelligence was shared during high-level discussions as tensions between the two allies continued over how to respond to Iran’s actions in the region.
According to the reports, the alleged assassination plot was presented as evidence that Iran remained committed to targeting Trump in retaliation for the 2020 US drone strike that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani. Iranian leaders have repeatedly vowed revenge for Soleimani’s death, although Tehran has consistently denied involvement in assassination attempts against American officials.
The intelligence reportedly arrived at a critical moment when the Trump administration was considering its response to recent attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and renewed military activity across the Middle East. Israeli officials argued that the alleged threat demonstrated Iran’s continued hostility and justified stronger military measures before the situation escalated further.
President Trump has publicly acknowledged that Iran considers him a primary target and recently stated that security threats against him remain serious. Speaking during international engagements, he said enhanced security arrangements had been put in place due to ongoing concerns over potential Iranian retaliation.
Neither the White House nor the Israeli government has publicly released evidence supporting the reported assassination intelligence. Iranian officials have also not issued an official response to the latest claims. Intelligence experts note that such assessments are often classified and are rarely disclosed publicly because of national security concerns.
The developments come amid renewed military confrontation between the United States and Iran following the collapse of a fragile ceasefire. Analysts believe the alleged intelligence has added another layer of complexity to the already volatile regional crisis, with diplomatic efforts continuing alongside heightened military preparedness across the Middle East.
