Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and producer Bhushan Kumar announced Operation Sindoor, a cinematic depiction of India’s precision military strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and PoK following the 2025 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians.
Historical Context and Operation Details
Inspired by Lt Gen K.J.S. ‘Tiny’ Dhillon’s book Operation Sindoor: The Untold Story of India’s Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan, the film recounts the multi-domain response involving IAF airstrikes, naval deterrence, and border force coordination targeting Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba infrastructure. The symbolic title references sindoor—vermilion sacred to Hindu widows—highlighting terrorists’ targeting of newlyweds.
Production Vision
A collaboration between T-Series and I Am Buddha Productions, Agnihotri calls it “not just a film… a revelation” documenting national resilience. Kumar emphasized truthful storytelling of events demanding courage amid escalating India-Pakistan tensions.
Symbolic and Cinematic Significance
The project joins Agnihotri’s nationalist oeuvre (The Kashmir Files, The Vaccine War), using real events to showcase women’s roles like Colonel Sophia Qureshi alongside unified armed forces valor, positioning it as both tribute and strategic narrative.
