Iranian officials report a US airstrike at Mashhad International Airport damaged a Mahan Air aircraft scheduled to fly to New Delhi for humanitarian medical supplies and aid for Iranian civilians. The plane was expected to depart Tuesday and arrive Wednesday, carrying relief funded by Indian donations amid the ongoing conflict.

Disrupted Humanitarian Effort

The Mahan Air flight aimed to collect essential medicines procured via the Iranian Red Crescent Society, following India’s first aid consignment sent March 18. Iranian sources called the strike a “war crime” targeting civilian relief operations.

Unconfirmed US Involvement

US officials have not verified the airstrike claim or aircraft damage. The incident occurs as tensions escalate with recent Hormuz tanker attacks and Trump’s threats against Iranian energy infrastructure, complicating neutral humanitarian corridors.
